What to expect from 2XKO early access
Riot’s fighting game adapts League of Legends champions into 2v2 matches where tagging and assists matter as much as individual combos. Consequently, you won’t be buying items like in a MOBA; instead, you’ll learn movesets and team synergies.
Early access adds at least one new playable champion: Teemo. He brings his trademark dart shots to the roster, which should change match pacing and zoning strategies when he’s in play.
Moreover, Riot will start 2XKO’s first season with early access. According to Riot’s announcement, there will be five seasons in 2026. Each season will:
- add a new character to the roster,
- reset player ranks at the season start, and
- roll out a new battle pass and seasonal content.
Finally, if you played the closed beta, note that Riot says there will be no more content resets once early access begins, as executive producer Tom Cannon explained in the early access announcement video posted above.
