All Your Favorite Manga in One App: Crunchyroll Manga Launches Oct. 9 with One Piece, Jujutsu Kaisen & Offline Reading

Crunchyroll is launching a new digital manga app called Crunchyroll Manga, arriving on Oct. 9 for iOS and Android in the U.S. and Canada, with a web version following on Oct. 15. The app was first announced in January and will get an official first look at New York Comic Con 2025, and Crunchyroll says it will partner with multiple publishers to bring popular series into one place.

Launch details

The Crunchyroll Manga app will be available on Oct. 9 for iOS and Android users in the U.S. and Canada. Then, on Oct. 15, Crunchyroll plans to launch a web version. In addition, the company will present an official first look at New York Comic Con 2025.

Publishers and catalog

Crunchyroll announced partnerships with several major publishers, including AlphaPolis, COMPASS, Square Enix, VIZ Media, and Yen Press. The press release also lists additional partners expected to follow, such as Shueisha, J-Novel Club, ThirdlineNEXT, and highstone.

Titles named in the announcement include: One Piece, Jujutsu Kaisen, Daemons of the Shadow Realm, The Apothecary Diaries, Delicious in Dungeon, My Dress-Up Darling, The Summer Hikaru Died, Lycoris Recoil, Sasaki and Miyano, Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy, and Maiden of the Dragon: Falling for the Demon’s Lies, among others.

Pricing and subscriptions

Crunchyroll Manga will be offered as a premium add-on to existing Crunchyroll subscriptions. The announced pricing is as follows:

  • Crunchyroll Fan + Manga — $11.99 USD / $15.49 CAD per month (includes Manga add-on at $4.00 USD / $5.50 CAD).
  • Crunchyroll Mega Fan + Manga — $15.49 USD / $17.49 CAD per month (includes Manga add-on at $3.50 USD / $5.00 CAD).
  • Ultimate Fan tier subscribers ($15.99/month) will get access to the new manga service automatically.

Features

The service will support mobile, tablet, and web reading with unlimited ad-free access and the option to download chapters for offline reading. According to the press release, “Hundreds of chapters from hundreds of titles” will be available from day one, with more content added over time.

Kodansha note

One detail in the announcement is that Kodansha titles were not listed among the initial partners or catalog entries in the press release. Crunchyroll did not list Kodansha as an initial partner in this release.
