XP and progression changes
First, match-completion XP and daily bonus XP will be increased. That should speed up ranking and reward normal play more than before.
Second, the XP required for the first 20 levels of weapon progression is being reduced. In short, early weapon progress will be easier to reach, so you unlock the basics faster.
Weapon assignments and review
The developers also said assignments will become available earlier, and they are reviewing how difficult weapon-assignment challenges are. However, they warned that changes aren’t immediate — the team is reviewing the difficulty of those challenges and may adjust them later.
XP farm servers being cut
The update will cut down on the number of so-called “XP farm” servers. The developers gave two reasons. First, the large number of XP-farm servers pushed community server capacity to the limit, which blocked access to other Portal experiences. Second, the team wrote that “community experiences are a key part of what makes Battlefield 6 special,” and that “it’s meant to be a space for creativity, experimentation, and connection, where you can easily find and enjoy great modes with your friends and squadmates.”
They said they want to “reinforce player-driven experiences that bring people together,” not modes that simply game the progression mechanics.
Timeline and other fixes
The update to implement these changes is due to go live “within the next week,” though the team added it could arrive sooner depending on testing. Additionally, developers promised more details soon about fixes for visibility, weapon bloom, vehicles not spawning, and other issues.
