Beat the RNG: How to Farm Silksong’s Silver Bells Wish Fast for 120 Rosary Beads

If you’ve been poking around Hornet’s world and want a quick, concrete guide to the “Silver Bells” wish in Hollow Knight: Silksong, here’s everything you need to know. It’s a short, RNG-heavy side task that rewards rosary beads, and you’ll spend most of your time in Bellhart’s tunnels.
- Where to pick up the “Silver Bells” quest
- How to find the bells (walkthrough and tips)
- What you get for completing the wish
“Silver Bells” quest location
You can grab the “Silver Bells” wish from Bellhart’s wish board, but only after you finish The Threadspun Town. In practice, that means you need to have beaten Sister Splinter in Shellwood and gained the wall-cling ability. After that, clear through Bellhart’s tunnels and defeat Widow so Bellhart will reopen his shop area.
Then, head to Bellhart’s town area. The wish board sits left of the bench next to the shop; once Bellhart’s back up and running, the board will be uncovered and the “Silver Bells” wish will be available to take.
“Silver Bells” quest walkthrough
For this wish, you must collect eight silver bells. Those bells only spawn in two places: Bellhart’s northern tunnels and the southern tunnels. The southern tunnels require a secret path to the right of the Bellway calling station, then wall-jumping along the path above the Bell Hermit.
However, bell spawns are entirely random. In other words, you might run the southern tunnels and find nothing, or you might find several in a single run through the north. The bells are easy to spot when they do appear: they’re large, silver, and have a glowing white aura like other collectible items. Mostly they sit on the ground, although sometimes one can fall from the ceiling like the bell monsters do.
Areas reset when you exit to another region or rest at a bench. Therefore, a common strategy is to quickly run the northern tunnels, exit into Shellwood via the bottom-left, then return and repeat. The southern tunnels are larger and have more ground to cover, but running the north repeatedly can be faster.
On our test runs it took five round trips through both tunnels (ten trips total) to reach eight bells, yet your mileage will vary because of the RNG.
“Silver Bells” quest reward
Turn the eight bells back in to Bellhart and you receive 120 rosary beads. That’s a straightforward currency boost and can help you toward buying the Memory Locket from Bellhart’s shop, which expands how many tools a crest can hold.
If you don’t plan to spend the beads right away, consider buying a rosary bead string from the shop. It holds 120 beads and stays in your inventory even if you die, so it’s a safe way to bank the reward.
