Borderlands 4: Every Abandoned Auger Mine Location — Hidden Bosses, Loot, and 40 SDU Tokens

Borderlands 4 hides small dungeon-style spots called abandoned Auger mines across Kairos. Each mine is tucked behind a glowing fake wall, contains a tunnel fight and a boss, and rewards loot — plus 40 SDU tokens the first time you clear one. However, you must finish the main quest “Shadow of the Mountain” before they become available.

All Auger mine locations in Borderlands 4
Auger mines are small, hidden dungeons where world creatures gather and a boss waits at the end. They are different from Order bunkers because you fight local fauna and enemies rather than clearing a scripted bunker encounter. In short, find the glowing fake wall, step through, clear the tunnels, and defeat the boss to complete the mine.
Timid Kyle’s Neglected Opening (Coastal Bonescape)
This mine sits northeast of the Abandoned Post Safehouse in Coastal Bonescape. The entrance is inside a cave beside a small lake; it’s on the right as you enter the cave.
One quick tip: don’t jump into the big hole in the middle of the cave — the Auger entrance is to the right of that pit. Use nearby fast travel points to save time.
The Claim (Dissected Plateau)
To reach The Claim, teleport to Zadra’s Backup Plan in Dissected Plateau. Then leave the room via the door beside the fast travel station and follow the cave path to the right, heading north. The glowing fake wall entrance is on your right.
The Pigeonhole (Grindstone of the Worthy)
The Pigeonhole is south of the Rustical Hurl Silo in Grindstone of the Worthy. Access is only possible from the north, so use the Rustical Hurl Silo as your landmark and approach the cave from that direction.
Trinket Crevass (Ruined Sumplands)
Find Trinket Crevass on the east side of the northern area of Ruined Sumplands. The mine entrance is on the east side of a wall.
For a faster route, teleport to the Judgement’s Lapse silo on the map’s east side and travel west to the spot.
Whistler’s Maw (Cuspid Climb)
Whistler’s Maw sits roughly in the center of Cuspid Climb. The mine has a single entrance on the south side, and small shrines nearby mark the area visually.
Therefore, it’s usually quickest to travel via the Reliquary Silo and approach from that direction.
Bittervein (Stoneblood Forest)
Bittervein is in the far northern corner of Stoneblood Forest. The area is guarded by bronkhorns, but you can ignore them and head straight to the entrance.
Two nearby fast travel options make reaching Bittervein easy: Snowy Wells Safehouse and the Deathright Silo, both to the south of the mine.
The Toil of Spoiling Vis (Carcadia District)
This mine appears later in the game and is tucked into the Carcadia District. Start at the Final Defiance fast travel station, head southeast and cross the wall opening. Drop to the lower level and turn left, then follow the wall until you find an opening into the mine.
Because it’s gated to later progress, make sure your story progress is high enough before hunting this one.
That’s the full list of known abandoned Auger mines. Remember: complete “Shadow of the Mountain” first, look for the glowing fake walls, and claim the 40 SDU tokens on your first clear. For route planning, unlock nearby Safehouses and Silos to speed up runs.
