Crack Silent Hill f’s Locker Puzzle in Seconds — All Codes for Story, Hard and Lost in the Fog

Silent Hill f uses a simple substitution for its school locker puzzle: letters that look like numbers get swapped in the combination. This guide lists the locker codes you need on each difficulty, explains the letter-to-number rule the game uses, and points out what’s inside each locker so you don’t miss any useful items.
How the locker code works
The game uses a “girl code” that replaces letters with visually similar digits. For example, A = 4 and E = 3. Likewise, G = 9 and S = 5. Also, O maps to 0, which the game uses for codes like SOS. So, when you see a three-letter clue, convert each letter to its number and use that number string on the locker.
Ayumi’s locker code (progression)
Ayumi’s locker is the one you must open to move the story forward on all difficulties. The clue points to the sea, and the game gives partial mapping information in the journal. Specifically, the letters are SEA, which convert as follows:
- S → 5
- E → 3
- A → 4
Therefore, the full code you enter is 534. This is true on Story difficulty and required to continue the main sequence.
Other locker codes and loot
You only need Ayumi’s locker to progress, but the school has three more lockers worth opening. Each contains a small reward: an inventory expansion, an omamori charm, and a lore note. Below are the codes and what’s inside.
Suga Yosie’s locker
The clue leads to SOS, and using the same letter-to-number rule gives 505. That locker contains an inventory expansion, which is handy if you want to carry more items.
Aoi’s locker
Aoi’s locker uses a girl-code number that spells his name: 401. Inside you’ll find an origami of grievances that mentions Suga Yosie’s code on higher difficulties, though on Story difficulty the origami may not appear.
Taiko’s locker
The code for Taiko is given directly by an origami note and reads as 377. Taiko’s locker holds a wolf omamori, which increases damage for weapons with high durability, such as lead pipes and crowbars.
Quick difficulty breakdown
To recap the codes by difficulty and their uses:
- Story: Ayumi — 534 (required to progress). Aoi — 401 (origami). Taiko — 377 (wolf omamori). Suga Yosie — 505 (inventory expansion may still be present).
- Hard: Ayumi still uses 534; the clue labeled BUS corresponds to 865 for that route when you interpret the girl code; Suga Yosie’s locker is 505 and contains the inventory expansion.
- Lost in the Fog: Ayumi’s clue appears as EGG, which converts to 399. Other lockers keep the same codes and contents as above.
If you want to explore the school without constantly checking your map, keep an interactive map handy. That will save time and make it easier to locate the lockers and the rooms that contain the origami clues.
