Critical Role Reveals Star-Studded Campaign 4 — D&D 2024 Rules, West Marches Format, and New World Aramán Debut Oct. 2

Critical Role has revealed details for Campaign Four: the cast, the rules system, and how the show will be structured. The new campaign will use the Dungeons & Dragons (2024 rules), introduce a West Marches–style rotating-table format, and take place in a new setting called Aramán, which sits beyond Exandria.
- Who’s in the cast and how the tables will rotate.
- Which rules and creators are involved (D&D 2024 plus Darrington Press contributors).
- Premiere date, viewing options, and the release schedule for VODs and podcasts.
Cast and table structure
The main cast for Campaign Four includes Critical Role founders Laura Bailey, Taliesin Jaffe, Ashley Johnson, Matthew Mercer, Liam O’Brien, Marisha Ray, Sam Riegel, and Travis Willingham, plus five new contributors: Luis Carazo, Robbie Daymond, Aabria Iyengar, Whitney Moore, and Alex Ward. In total there are 13 cast members for the campaign.
Moreover, the first four episodes act as an Overture, introducing all 13 players and connecting their scenes. After that, the narrative divides into three smaller rotating tables called the Soldiers, Schemers, and Seekers</b, while larger themes continue to tie the show together.
Rules, creators, and setting
Campaign Four will primarily use Dungeons & Dragons (2024 rules). In addition, the show will include both official rules and homebrew content from Jeremy Crawford and Chris Perkins of Darrington Press. Brennan Lee Mulligan will serve as Game Master for this campaign.
“When creating the worlds that we build and explore in all of our content at Critical Role, we have always held strong to the belief that we should use the system that best supports the story we want to tell,” said Marisha Ray, creative director, co-founder, and cast member of Critical Role. “We are certainly spoiled for choice when it comes to TTRPG systems that the cast knows and loves, so we are very excited to explore more of both Daggerheart and Dungeons and Dragons in our near (and hopefully distant) future.”
The campaign explores a new region named Aramán, which is described as being outside Exandria.
When and where to watch
