Soldiers table revealed

Episode 3 of Campaign 4 showed the first of three smaller tables that the cast will split into after the Overture episodes. That first table is called the Soldiers table, and it will follow a five-player group on its own arc outside the city.

The show’s new Dungeon Master, Brennan Lee Mulligan, described the table as focused on combat and conflict-driven stories. For context, here is the clip where he explains that approach:

Who is at the Soldiers table

The five players and their characters announced in episode 3 are:

  • Teor Pridesire — played by Travis Willingham.
  • Thimble — played by Laura Bailey.
  • Tyranny — played by Whitney Moore.
  • Wicander Halovar — played by Sam Riegel. Notably a squeamish cleric.
  • Kattigan Vale — played by Robbie Daymond.

Why they separate from the main group

There are three concrete, episode-based reasons these five will head out together.

1) A clear lead to follow

After the Crow Keepers attack, the group learns that Casimir — an old associate of Thjazi Fang — stole magical items and fled to a Halovar stronghouse in Timmony, north of Dol-Makjar. Because Casimir is a direct link to the campaign’s opening events, the Soldiers table has a practical destination and purpose: track him down.

2) Personal stakes

Each character has a concrete reason to leave the city. Thimble wants vengeance after Thjazi’s death. Kattigan already knows Timmony and warns it’s dangerous. Tyranny and Wicander are now outsiders from House Halovar after choosing to rescue Teor. Meanwhile, Teor has sworn a life debt to Wicander.

3) They’re wanted in Dol-Makjar

Finally, all five are officially unsafe staying in the city: criminals, traitors, or people marked for death by the powers that run Dol-Makjar. Therefore, leaving the city is a factual, necessary step for their survival.

In short, the mix of motive, opportunity, and danger makes this group a straightforward fit for a combat-focused table. As Mulligan put it, the Soldiers table is for “players who are interested in a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven story mode where the non-violent answers are few and far between.”

When and where to watch

The Campaign 4 Overture continues with a final introductory episode on Thursday, Oct. 24. The Soldiers table is not scheduled to appear in next week’s episode, according to the episode’s Cooldown segment, which runs immediately after the main show.
