Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.3 Drops New Cars and Photo Mode – Switch 2 Fans, Your Wait Isn’t Over Yet!

Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.3 Brings New Cars and Photo Mode – Switch 2 Players Will Need to Wait
The highly anticipated Cyberpunk 2077 update 2.3 is arriving on July 17, and it’s packed with cool new features focusing mainly on vehicles and customization. However, Nintendo Switch 2 owners will have to wait a bit longer to get their hands on the update. Let’s dive into what’s new!
- Three new cars and a customizable motorcycle
- AutoDrive feature for hands-free navigation
- Photo Mode enhancements with cinematic camera and new NPCs
- AMD FSR 3.1 support for PC players
- HDR10+ Gaming and Variable Refresh Rate coming to consoles
- Mac version launching alongside Update 2.3
New Vehicles and AutoDrive
Update 2.3 introduces three brand-new cars and the first-ever customizable motorcycle in Cyberpunk 2077. Unlocking these rides happens through quests that trigger naturally and won’t affect your 100% game completion. The standout feature here is AutoDrive, which lets your vehicles drive themselves once you set a waypoint. It’s designed to follow traffic rules, stop at red lights, and even halt if under attack.
According to Paweł Sasko, Cyberpunk 2077’s Associate Game Director, combat encounters have been fine-tuned to be less frequent, so AutoDrive can function smoothly without interruptions. Plus, you can hire Delamain AI taxis to take control for you, and there’s a new wandering mode where cars roam freely in Night City.

Photo Mode Gets a Major Upgrade
The update also adds a new cinematic camera mode inspired by Grand Theft Auto, letting players enjoy Night City in a more picturesque way. You can use Photo Mode alongside AutoDrive, making it easier than ever to snap the perfect shot. New features include the ability to change time of day and weather to set the ideal mood.
To make things even more exciting, 27 new NPCs, along with fresh poses and outfits for main characters, have been added specifically for Photo Mode. CD Projekt Red plans to celebrate this with a Photo Mode contest soon, inviting fans to show off their creativity.

Technical Improvements and Platform Updates
For PC players, AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 3.1 (FSR 3.1) support launches with Update 2.3, promising smoother gameplay. While Cyberpunk 2077 will eventually support FSR 4, that will come with a future AMD driver update. Additionally, HDR10+ Gaming is now fully supported, and Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) is on its way to consoles.
On the platform front, the long-awaited Mac version of Cyberpunk 2077 will launch simultaneously with the update on July 17. Players on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S can jump into the new content immediately, while Nintendo Switch 2 owners will receive the update shortly after.
