Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Is Coming — Watch These Essentials Before Facing Muzan

If you’re gearing up for the final clash with Muzan, here’s a clean, no-nonsense guide to watching Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle so you won’t miss anything important.

What to watch first

Start with Season 1 of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. That’s where you meet Tanjiro, Nezuko, and the main cast, and where the series’ basic rules are set up.

After season 1, you’ll be in the right place to follow the story forward without confusion. It’s a short investment that pays off in the long run.

Mugen Train and Season 2

The 2020 film Mugen Train is a direct continuation of season 1 and remains the highest-grossing anime movie ever. Although it was marketed as the franchise’s first movie, it continues the story from season 1 rather than standing apart.

Later, season 2 returned and retold the Mugen Train story with added context and new scenes, then moved into the Entertainment District arc. So, for most viewers, watching either the original film or the first seven episodes of season 2 will get you through that chunk of the story.

Compilation films and Seasons 2–4

There are two compilation films that stitch together parts of the series. In 2023, To the Swordsmith Village combined material from the Entertainment District arc and the start of the Swordsmith Village arc.

Because of that mix, we suggest watching seasons 2 and 3 directly if you want the fullest experience.

Then in early 2024, To the Hashira Training was released as another compilation. It joins the final episode of season 3 with the premiere of season 4 and adds a recap montage to bring people up to speed before season 4 aired. If you watch seasons 3 and 4 in full, this compilation is optional.

Infinity Castle — the finale begins

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Infinity Castle directly follows season 4 and opens the series’ grand finale. The film drops the Demon Slayer Corps into Muzan Kibutsuji’s shifting fortress, where Tanjiro and allies face the Upper Rank demons on their way to the final battle.

Trilogy plan and schedule

The story is planned as a film trilogy. Infinity Castle is the first part, followed by Infinity Castle Part 2 (rumored for 2027) and a final installment expected in 2029. Each part continues the finale, and the first film includes a short prologue for anyone who needs a quick refresher.

If you’d rather read ahead, the original manga by Koyoharu Gotouge ended in 2020.

Where to watch

All seasons of Demon Slayer and Mugen Train are available to stream on Crunchyroll. So, if you want to catch up before Infinity Castle, that’s the easiest one-stop option.

Enjoy the finale, and don’t show up unprepared—this one aims to wrap up a lot of plot threads at once.
