Chibi Owl House short
For Halloween 2025, Disney is bringing back a chibi-styled Owl House short within its Chibi Tiny Tales series. The short reimagines Emperor Belos as an ordinary (if suspiciously glowing) guy trying to enjoy a cold smoothie, until Helen from Kiff bumps into him and spills it. The tone is comedic rather than dark, and the short focuses on a small, self-contained gag.
For context, the chibi look referenced here comes from the broader chibi aesthetic used in previous Tiny Tales crossovers, and the characters are drawn from existing series continuity — for example, Emperor Belos appears on fan pages such as this entry, while Helen is documented at the Kiff wiki.
Mickey and Minnie’s stop-motion Halloween music shorts
Disney is expanding its stop-motion Halloween offerings under the umbrella of Mickey’s Spooky Stories, which spun off from the 2023 special Mickey and Friends: Trick or Treats. Unlike the short narratives released last year, the 2025 entries titled Mickey and Minnie’s Holiday Songs: Halloween are presented as stop-motion music videos.
In one short — provided to press ahead of broadcast — Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy and Goofy take a haunted hayride and travel to a spooky house while a cover of “This is Halloween” from The Nightmare Before Christmas plays. The piece keeps the characters’ trick-or-treat costumes from recent years; for instance, Minnie appears in a tarantula outfit that continues to be part of her Halloween look.
Two additional stop-motion music videos will feature remixed, sing-along versions of the classic Mickey songs “Hot Dog!” and “Monster Boogie.” The shorter music clips referenced in promotional material point back to the original song moments from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse as source material.
Release dates and where to watch
The Chibi Owl House short and several Mickey stop-motion pieces are scheduled to air on TV and appear on streaming platforms as follows:
- Sept. 29 — The Chibi short and some Mickey stop-motion shorts will air on Disney Channel and Disney Jr.
- Oct. 2 — Selected Mickey stop-motion shorts will arrive on Disney+.
- Oct. 3 — The songs from the Mickey music shorts are set to be released by Walt Disney Records.
Production credits and music availability
The stop-motion Mickey shorts are produced by Stoopid Buddy Stoodios, the studio behind Robot Chicken. More information about the studio’s projects can be found on their site at this page. The shorts list David H. Brooks among the producers and directors.
Meanwhile, the Chibi entry continues the Chibi Tiny Tales approach of short, comedic micro-stories featuring simplified versions of established Disney characters. As noted above, the clips will be available on linear channels first and then on Disney’s streaming service, with soundtrack releases following shortly after.
