DC has just dropped DC Worlds Collide, a free-to-play mobile RPG that invites players to dive into the DC Universe like never before. Warner Bros. Games San Francisco has crafted a mobile experience that’s both deep and accessible. One of the game’s biggest draws is its narrative foundation, which fuses two major DC Comics story arcs: Trinity War and Forever Evil. Both stories originally kicked off during the New 52 relaunch, with Trinity War starting in August 2013 and Forever Evil following in November 2013.
The Storylines You’ll Experience
The Trinity War event revolves around Pandora’s Box, a powerful artifact held by the mysterious Pandora. When Superman opens the box, he falls under its corrupting influence, sparking a desperate attempt by the Justice League, Justice League Dark, and Justice League of America to contain the chaos. Meanwhile, the sinister Crime Syndicate from Earth-3—an evil mirror of the Justice League—escapes and sets their dark plans in motion, leading to the apparent “death” of the three Justice League teams.
Picking up the pieces, Forever Evil sees the Crime Syndicate targeting DC’s main Earth. With heroes missing, villains must unite under Lex Luthor’s leadership to form the Injustice League and fight back against the Syndicate’s reign of terror.
DC Worlds Collide merges these two epic storylines into a fresh, mobile-friendly narrative. Players will need to assemble powerful teams to stop a new version of the Crime Syndicate before they take over the world.
Characters and Future Content
The game supports micro-transactions, letting players unlock new characters and costumes. Excitingly, there’s an upcoming tie-in with James Gunn’s Superman movie. The DC Universe version of Superman will be the first new character released on July 9, followed by others like Guy Gardner, Mister Terrific, and Krypto arriving later this summer.
