We’re finally getting a deeper look at Donkey Kong Bananza. Nintendo announced in its Nintendo Today app that the Direct will feature roughly 15 minutes of updates, gameplay, and fresh info on this brand-new DK title. That’s not much time, but *fans are hoping for some big reveals*.
What do we already know about the game?
Donkey Kong Bananza is shaping up to be a true 3D adventure. Players will guide a redesigned, super-charming DK as he searches for golden bananas before the mysterious villain group VoidCo. gets their hands on them. DK isn’t alone this time—Odd Rock, a quirky new companion, will join the journey and help DK smash up the environment along the way.

Leaked surprises and fan theories
Like many big releases, Donkey Kong Bananza has already had its fair share of leaks. Screenshots showed a baby-like version of Pauline joining DK in some scenes, replacing the purple Odd Rock in others. Interestingly, Pauline wears a purple bracelet that looks a lot like Odd Rock’s design, sparking fan theories that they might be connected.
Cranky Kong made a quick appearance in the first trailer, but so far, no other Kong family members have been revealed. Could more be announced during the Direct? We’ll have to wait and see.
