The map is intended to help you plan routes, find loot, and reach safety before nightfall.
Interactive map overview
The Castor Woods map covers the Western Alps area featured in Dying Light: The Beast. It marks key locations such as safe zones, vehicle spawn points, substations, dark zones, convoys, and side-quest areas. In addition, the map highlights collectibles like sigils, murals, blueprints, treasure maps, and recordings.
What you need to know
First, safe zones are shown clearly — so aim to reach one before nightfall. Second, vehicles spawn at specific points; if you’re in a hurry, grabbing a car and driving can be faster than running through infected terrain. Third, convoys and marked side quests often lead to valuable gear, including treasure maps and legendary weapons.

Quick tips for survival
During daytime, search for convoys and side quests — they *often* reward valuable items. Also, treasure maps and legendary weapons are among the best ways to boost your loadout; notably, legendary weapons can be thrown. Importantly, always note the safe zones on the map and reach one before night. Finally, if you’re low on time, a vehicle can get you to safety faster than foot travel.
Updates and status
The map is a work in progress and will be updated over time. The latest update, published on Sept. 30, added more items such as legendary weapons to the map. Consequently, check back regularly for new points of interest and refinements.
