Don’t Get Stuck — Find All 3 Mossberries Fast in Hollow Knight: Silksong’s ‘Berry Picking’ Quest
If you’re hunting down the early quest in Hollow Knight: Silksong, the “Berry Picking” task sends you to gather three mossberries for Moss Druid in Bone Bottom. It’s straightforward, but you will need a couple of movement tricks — and the right path — to reach all three.
‘Berry Picking’ quest location in Hollow Knight: Silksong
Moss Druid sits inside a small cave near the top-right section of Bone Bottom. To trigger the quest, you must talk to them after you can reach that cave. First, unlock the Silkspear ability. The Silkspear is located at the top of the large room just outside Moss Druid’s cave. After you get it, drop to the bottom of that room, head right, and use the Silkspear to break the silk barrier blocking the path. Then enter the cave and interact with Moss Druid to begin the quest.
Mossberry locations
There are three mossberries to collect. Two are in Moss Grotto, and one is back above the first Bone Bottom village. Below are exact spots and brief tips for grabbing each berry.
Mossberry #1 (Moss Grotto)
First, drop into the hole to the left of the Bone Bottom village to reach Moss Grotto. Then go left and platform upward to the higher level. Continue forward until you hit a staircase-like platform; jump across and follow the path to the end. The first mossberry sits there, ready to pick up.
Mossberry #2 (Moss Grotto)
The second berry appears shortly after the first, at the top of the rightmost area in Moss Grotto. However, it’s out of direct reach. Therefore, you must use a pogo technique: wait for a nearby flying enemy to plunge down, hit it with a downward aerial attack, and bounce off its head to gain height. Then quickly slash upward at the mossberry to knock it down and collect it. Note that Hornet’s downward attack is diagonal, so timing and angle matter.
Mossberry #3 (Above Bone Bottom Village)
For the third berry, make your way past Shakra the map vendor in The Marrow and move up and to the left until you return to Bone Bottom. From there, drop down the platforms until you find an elevator; hit its switch so you can use it later if needed.
Then continue right, hopping across platforms until you see a bug creature holding a glowing green object in its mouth below. Your goal is to pogo the creature repeatedly until it is defeated; it will drop the mossberry. If you struggle to chain pogos, ride the elevator back up and try again. Finally, pick up the mossberry and return to Moss Druid.
‘Berry Picking’ quest rewards in Hollow Knight: Silksong
Turn in all three mossberries to Moss Druid to receive the Druid’s Eye crest. Placing this crest into a blue crest slot causes a green elixir to partially refill your silk bar after you take damage. This effect is especially helpful in early-game encounters while you learn Silksong’s movement and combat.
