Elden Ring Nightreign Introduces Duos Mode Next Week
Great news for Elden Ring Nightreign fans: starting July 30, you’ll finally be able to team up in pairs! FromSoftware and Bandai Namco announced that Patch 1.02 will bring a new Duo Expeditions mode, allowing two players to explore Limveld together. This is a fresh alternative to the existing solo and three-player expeditions.
- Two-player mode added in Patch 1.02
- Quality-of-life UI improvements included
- Game launched on May 30, selling over 5 million copies
Two’s Company in Nightreign
Until now, Nightreign was designed mainly for three-player co-op, which was the core multiplayer experience. Game director Junya Ishizaki explained that two-player mode was “overlooked during development.” However, feedback from players pushed the team to quickly plan a post-launch update to add duos. Now, with Patch 1.02, Nightfarers can intentionally team up in pairs to tackle the dangerous, shrinking map and fierce bosses together.
More Than Just Duos
Besides the exciting new mode, the update will also bring various quality-of-life improvements, including enhanced filtering options for Relics in the UI. These tweaks aim to make your Nightreign experience smoother and more enjoyable.
Nightreign’s Success So Far
Since its launch on May 30 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X, Elden Ring Nightreign has been a hit, selling over 5 million copies. Its unique battle royale twist on the Elden Ring universe, with ever-changing maps and challenging bosses, has clearly resonated with players worldwide.
