This fast-paced board game comes from Seiji Kanai, the creator of the hugely popular Love Letter, and it’s available now. Moogle Bounty Mayhem: What’s Inside?
First of all, Moogle Bounty Mayhem lets you play as one of six moogle siblings, each with their own special ability and set of battle cards. The game is quick to learn, partly thanks to a manga that walks you through the rules. To pick your character, just roll the special die at the start of the game. Then, you and up to three friends will compete over six rounds, trying to defeat monsters from Final Fantasy 12.
Another cool feature is the original art by Ryoma Ito, the artist behind Final Fantasy 12’s unique moogle look. So, you’ll get to see the rabbit-eared moogles in action while you play. The game box includes everything you need, and the focus is on forming combos, outsmarting your opponents, and figuring out what cards they might be hiding. Seiji Kanai described it as “a challenging game in which the cards and intentions of the players are intricately intertwined.”
Chocobo Fans, Rejoice!
If you’re more of a chocobo fan, there’s something for you too. Square Enix is combining the 2022 game Chocobo’s Crystal Hunt with its 2024 expansion, Chocobo’s Dungeon & Monsters, into one package called Chocobo’s Crystal Hunt Deluxe. This deluxe edition will launch in February 2026 and will include new card illustrations, plus rules in Japanese, English, German, and French.
