Finally: Hollow Knight: Silksong Patch Nerfs Moorwing and Sister Splinter Next Week

Team Cherry is releasing the first post-release patch for Hollow Knight: Silksong next week. The studio says the update is “primarily focused on bug fixes,” while also including “some slight balance adjustments in the early game.” You can read the announcement in a post on Steam.
- Patch due mid next week (per Team Cherry).
- Early bosses Moorwing and Sister Splinter will get a small difficulty reduction.
- Sandcarver enemies will deal less damage.
- Rosary economy rebalanced: higher rewards for courier deliveries, relics and psalm cylinders; Bellway and Bell Bench prices slightly lowered.
- PC players can try the patched build now via the public-beta branch on Steam or GOG.
When the patch arrives
Team Cherry says the update should roll out to all players mid next week. In their Steam post they wrote exactly: “Barring any unforseen issues, we’re aiming to deliver the patch to all players mid next week,” so expect the stable release around that time unless something blocks it.
Patch focus and scope
The studio framed the update as mainly fixing bugs, but confirmed it also contains a few early-game balance changes. Specifically, Team Cherry described the patch as “primarily focused on bug fixes,” and noted there are “some slight balance adjustments in the early game.”
Bosses and enemies
Two early bosses will be eased slightly: Moorwing and Sister Splinter. Team Cherry calls these reductions a slight difficulty reduction, aimed at the opening sections of the game.
Additionally, Sandcarver enemies will have their damage reduced to make early encounters less punishing.
Rosary economy changes
The update also rebalances the game’s primary currency, rosary beads. Rewards for courier deliveries, relics, and psalm cylinders will be increased, which should give players more beads sooner.
Meanwhile, prices for the Bellway and Bell Bench will be reduced slightly, lowering some early-game purchase costs.
How to try the patch now
If you want the fixes immediately, PC players can opt into the public-beta branch on Steam or GOG to access the patched version ahead of the full rollout. Otherwise, wait for the stable release next week when Team Cherry pushes the update to everyone.
