How to unlock animal familiars in Hades 2

First, you must unlock the Faith of Familiar Spirits incantation. To do that, complete these four tasks during your runs:

  • Defeat Hecate five times.
  • Mine an outcropping with the Crescent Pick twice.
  • Interact with a lonely shade using the Tablet of Peace twice.
  • Dig using the Silver Spade once.

After completing those tasks, the Faith of Familiar Spirits incantation appears at the Cauldron. You can unlock it with one lotus and two nectar. Once unlocked, find each familiar during a run and give them a witch’s delight to invite them back to the Crossroads.

Finally, note this: after you use at least three witch’s delights, you unlock the Bravery of Familiar Spirits incantation, which lets you upgrade familiar abilities.
