Forza Horizon 6 reveal
The announcement arrived during Xbox’s Tokyo Game Show 2025 broadcast as a brief teaser trailer. In the trailer, the camera pans past license plates and souvenirs from previous Forza Horizon locations before settling on a vista that shows Mount Fuji across a lake, framed by cherry blossom.
Setting: Japan
Playground Games confirmed that the Horizon festival will take place in **Japan**. The teaser’s final shot with Mount Fuji and cherry blossom establishes the country as the game’s primary setting, although no in-game map or gameplay was shown.
Release date and development
The game is due in **2026**. Moreover, Xbox Game Studios head Matt Booty said, “We can’t wait to share more next year.”
Notably, the gap between Forza Horizon 5 (2021) and Forza Horizon 6 (2026) is five years, which is the longest interval between numbered Horizon releases to date.
Related details
Playground Games has been working on a reboot of Fable, which is also scheduled for release next year; consequently, the studio’s attention has been split between projects. Additionally, Turn 10 — the Motorsport studio traditionally behind Forza Motorsport — experienced recent layoffs and is now believed to be working primarily in a support role on Horizon.
Sales note
Meanwhile, Forza Horizon 5’s PlayStation 5 version has been reported as one of the best-selling PS5 games this year, indicating continued commercial interest in the series across platforms.
