The upcoming Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket expansion is all about Generation 2, bringing the beloved Johto Pokémon into the spotlight. Wisdom of Sea and Sky introduces fan-favorite legendaries and starters, along with exciting new gameplay updates.

Gen 2 Stars Take Center Stage
The Wisdom of Sea and Sky expansion is a tribute to the best Pokémon generation, featuring legendary birds Lugia and Ho-Oh as the pack mascots. Alongside them, players can collect Johto’s classic starter trio: Chikorita, Cyndaquil, and Totodile. The expansion also highlights iconic cards like the Red Gyarados, ex versions of Umbreon and Espeon, and trainer cards such as Silver, the memorable rival from Gen 2.
True to Gen 2’s legacy of introducing baby Pokémon, Pichu and Cleffa make their debut in the digital card game here, adding a nostalgic touch for longtime fans.
New Cards and Gameplay Features
With over 200 new cards entering the game, the expansion keeps the monthly release streak alive, following June’s Eevee Grove expansion which celebrated all the Eeveelutions.
But it’s not just about new cards. Pokémon TCG Pocket’s trading system is getting a significant upgrade. Players can now create wishlists for cards they want to trade for, making it easier to find the perfect match.
The Pokémon Company announced that trade tokens will be discontinued, meaning players no longer need to exchange cards to get trading currency. Instead, Shinedust will be used to trade higher rarity cards, and it can be earned through in-game missions or by collecting duplicate cards.
Release Date and Where to Watch
