Who is joining Fortnite

Epic Games confirmed that Gorillaz will be featured as Season 10 Festival icons. The virtual band’s four characters — Noodle, 2D, Russel Hobbs, and Murdoc Niccals — arrive in-game on Tuesday, Aug. 26. Epic announced the collaboration in a company statement on Monday.

New Main Stage and gameplay changes

A new Main Stage is being added to the festival. According to a blog post, it includes towering buildings, a street train, and extensive graffiti to match the band’s aesthetic. In addition, Fortnite is rolling out several gameplay modifications for musical experiences. Specifically, the update adds “good” notes to the UI, changes the lift notes design, and allows players to strum during the tune-up process.

Jam tracks and songs

Two Gorillaz tracks are being added as jam tracks: “Clint Eastwood” and “DARE”. For more details, see the official Epic blog linked above.

About Gorillaz

Gorillaz is a virtual band created in the late 1990s by Damon Albarn (of Blur) and artist Jamie Hewlett (co-creator of Tank Girl). The band’s members are animated and appear in music videos and on screens during performances. However, real-life musicians perform alongside the visuals when the band plays live.

Fortnite’s music roster

This update continues Fortnite’s run of musical collaborations. Previously, the game has featured artists such as Sabrina Carpenter and The Weeknd as part of its in-game events and festivals.
