Where to find brittle quartzite in Grounded 2

Brittle quartzite appears as small reddish-brown stone lumps with sharper lines and defined edges. It spawns in a limited number of specific places around the yard — sometimes underground, sometimes behind root barriers, and sometimes on open surfaces. Because the in-game resource finder does not track mineral deposits, you must visit the spots below to harvest it directly.

Next to the milk molar in the cave where you retrieve an optical disk for story progress.
Inside the red ant hatchery anthill near the snackbar — turn right in the first hall with lights; the brittle quartzite is behind roots blocking a raw science node.
On top of the snackbar platform, between the wooden planks and the snackbar wall.
Near the roots of the oak tree, north of the Shlapz Portable Music Player point of interest.
Under a book to the south-southeast of the same music player.
Near a rock after exiting the hedge to the southwest of the snackbar.
Southeast of the picnic table and north of the pink bloom where the praying mantis nymph lives.
In a cave under the backpack where the Masked Stranger hides spicy candies.
At the Pine Hill ranger station, where you can pick up three pieces of quartzite.

A few practical harvesting notes:

Approach on foot: the prompt to interact with brittle quartzite won’t appear while you’re on your buggy, so dismount before trying to pick it up.
Anthill tip: bring your red ant soldier buggy and use “recruit” on worker ants at least once; recruited workers reduce aggression inside the anthill.
Respawn: brittle quartzite respawns like other resources, after a couple of in-game days, so you can revisit easy spots on routine runs.

How to get brittle whetstone in Grounded 2

Once you have brittle quartzite chunks, go to any nearby workbench. Then, open the Resources tab and craft a brittle whetstone. It takes one chunk of brittle quartzite to make one whetstone. If you harvest the nodes listed above, you can craft multiple whetstones; for example, harvesting the nodes we named yields enough material to make up to six brittle whetstones.
