Grounded 2 Weed Stems Guide: Where to Find and How to Collect Them Easily

Finding weed stems in Grounded 2 can be tricky if you don’t know exactly where to look. The game’s naming and design might confuse you, but once you get the hang of it, collecting these materials becomes much easier. Let’s break down where to find weed stems and how to gather them efficiently.

    • Why chopping weeds isn’t the best option early on
    • Where to find dandelions and why they matter
  • Tips for safely collecting and carrying weed stems
  • Extra uses for dandelion fuzz

Why You Shouldn’t Chop Weeds Right Away

You might think the easiest way to get weed stems is by chopping down the weeds themselves. However, in Grounded 2, you actually need an upgraded Omni-Tool axe to cut those down. Early in the game, you won’t have the materials to upgrade your axe yet, so this method is off the table for now.

Look for Dandelions Instead

Instead of going for the weeds, focus on finding dandelions. Even though the game calls them dandelions and not “weeds,” they are the real source of weed stems early on. You’ll find dandelions scattered around the snackbar area, but you’ll need to carefully scan through the thick grass to spot their characteristic puffballs.

Thistles are also considered weeds, but you can’t cut them down in the current early access version of Grounded 2, so don’t waste your time there.

How to Harvest Weed Stems Safely

Once you spot a dandelion stalk, use your standard Omni-Tool axe to chop it down. This is a slow process, so make sure no enemies are lurking nearby before you start. When the stalk breaks, it fragments into six weed stems. Remember, you have to carry these stems on your shoulder, just like grass planks.

Be careful because if you take damage while holding the weed stems, you’ll drop them. If that happens, don’t forget to go back and pick them up.

Extra Tip: Don’t Forget the Dandelion Fuzz

The fluff from the dandelion isn’t just for show. You can use this fuzz to glide if you fall or jump from high places, which can save your character from taking fall damage. So, make sure to grab some while you’re collecting weed stems.

Using Weed Stems in Your Builds

If you’re working on building something like a hatchery, one dandelion provides enough weed stems to complete it. Once you place your blueprint on the ground, you can slot in the weed stems directly without carrying them around, making your crafting process smoother.
