Grounded 2: Where to Find Every Sturdy Quartzite Node (Bring Bratburst Bombs & a Tier‑2 Hammer)

Sturdy quartzite in Grounded 2 is a high-tier resource found in a handful of cave locations. It’s rare, usually tucked behind cracked stone walls, and guarded by enemies like bug soldiers, larva, scorpions, or a roach that will ignore you if left alone. You need specific tools to reach and harvest it, and for now the item has limited use in the early access build.
- Where the quartzite spawns and which caves to check.
- Required tools and how to break through blocked areas.
- What the resource does in the current early access version.

Where to find sturdy quartzite in Grounded 2
Locations discovered so far: sturdy quartzite nodes appear mainly in caves across several regions. Specifically, nodes have been found in the following places:
- The cave east of the soda can in the Fire Pit region.
- A cave in Grass Games, west of the steps that lead to the Statue.
- A cave in the Ceremony region, east of the podium.
- Next to the giant rock in the center of the Ceremony region, north of the upturned terrarium where a wolf spider roams.
- The northern Snackbar region.
All of those caves feature cracked walls that block deeper routes. Therefore, you will often need bratburst bombs to clear blocked passages and reach all quartzite nodes. Additionally, some nodes sit near cave entrances and are accessible without breaking walls, but that varies by cave.
Breaking a sturdy quartzite node currently also yields brittle quartzite. To harvest a sturdy quartzite node you need the Omni-Tool’s hammer at tier two. The tier-two hammer requires lingonberry leather and a ladybug head to craft.
What is sturdy quartzite used for in Grounded 2?
In the current early access build, sturdy quartzite is not craftable into any usable item yet. Game text and flavor text indicate it is intended as a higher-tier upgrade material for weapons once future updates add those recipes. However, at present you cannot convert sturdy quartzite into upgrades inside the game.
Meanwhile, collecting sturdy quartzite is still practical because:
- Breaking a sturdy quartzite node grants some brittle quartzite as well, which is usable now.
- Sturdy quartzite is limited in spawn locations, so storing what you find gives you material ready for future updates that add crafting uses.
For players just starting out: make sure your Omni-Tool has the tier-two hammer before attempting to farm these nodes, bring bratburst bombs to access blocked tunnels, and be prepared for cave enemies guarding the areas. If you’re near the picnic table, climb up to the top and use the briefcase code for a surprise.
