Glassrock — often called g-rock — is a handy reagent in Hades 2 that you’ll want for certain weapon incantations and upgrades. Fortunately, it has a fixed spawn region, so with a bit of knowledge (and a little luck) you can farm it reliably on your runs.

How to get glassrock in Hades 2
Glassrock spawns in the Mourning Fields, which sits between Oceanus and Tartarus. Therefore, you must clear the Oceanus boss, Scylla, before you can reliably encounter glassrock on your runs. In practice, that means one full clear of Oceanus is required before the small, sparkly boulders appear.
Also, note that glassrock appears as a visible outcropping, similar to other ores like silver or limestone. So when you see a little dark, shiny stone, that’s your target.
Collecting glassrock: tools and yields
To harvest glassrock you need the Crescent Pick at the Silver Pool. You can craft the Crescent Pick for just one ash, and then use your interaction button to mine the vein. Importantly, you must interact twice to fully deplete a glassrock outcropping.
Without special upgrades, each boulder gives about three pieces of glassrock. However, the boulders spawn randomly, so some runs will yield more and some will yield none. In short, persistence helps.
Boosting your chances with Raki
If you want to increase your odds, unlock the incantation “Bravery of Familiar Spirits.” Then, bring Raki the raven along on runs. Upgrading Raki’s Stone Bond skill with witch’s delights raises the number of ore outcroppings you can find, which in turn improves your chance of finding more glassrock.
What to spend glassrock on
Once you’ve gathered some glassrock, head back to the Silver Pool and check weapon upgrades. For example, glassrock can be used toward the Aspect of Thanatos for the Moonstone Axe and the Aspect of Artemis for the Sister Blades. In other words, it’s a small but meaningful resource when you’re shaping your build.
