Campaign launch and instant funding
The Kickstarter for Immediate Murder Professionals: A Helluva Boss Official Game went live earlier than the advertised countdown, and it reached its initial $25,000 goal almost immediately.
Creators Creatist Games did not explain publicly why the campaign began six hours ahead of schedule. However, backers watching the page noted the early start and rapid pledge activity within minutes of the launch.
What the game is and how it plays
The card game adapts the adult animated series Helluva Boss. In the show, a crew of demonic assassins at the I.M.P. agency travel between Hell and the mortal plane using a magical grimoire, taking on murder jobs for clients.
The Kickstarter describes the game as a fast-paced, competitive title for up to four players, with playtimes around 20 minutes. Players take roles inspired by the series’ characters, collect high-value targets, and can interfere with opponents’ plans. A beta ruleset for the game has been posted as part of the campaign.
You can read the posted beta rules on this Drive document.
Editions, pricing and release window
Creatist Games is offering two versions on Kickstarter. The standard retail edition is listed at $29 on the campaign, with a planned store MSRP of $40. The deluxe “Grimoire” edition includes acrylic standees, an extra character, a slipcover meant to mimic the show’s grimoire, and all campaign stretch goals.
The campaign’s projected release window for the game is April 2026.
Funding progress and campaign image
Shortly after launch, the campaign passed the initial goal and continued to climb. About an hour after going live it had moved past $125,000.
Early-backer complaints and response
Some people who had signed up to an advance mailing list said they were not notified in time to access a limited early-backer promotion. That promotion allowed a very small number of backers to buy the retail edition for $1 and the Grimoire edition for $6.
A Creatist Games spokesperson posted an apology on the campaign page about the timing and the missed notification. The campaign page did not, at the time of publication, provide a full explanation for why the Kickstarter launched early.
