How to Get Silksong’s Emergency Heal — Rebuild the Cogheart, Track the Second Sentinel, and Claim the Reserve Bind

Final Audience in Hollow Knight: Silksong is a short but late-leaning side quest that asks you to rebuild a Cogheart, track down the Second Sentinel around the Choral Chambers, and then fight it in a proper boss arena. You’ll need a few upgrades first, and the reward is a single-use emergency heal, so treat this like a tidy bit of endgame plumbing rather than a main-story pivot.

All Cogheart locations and bell-order puzzles

First, you must gather three Cogheart Pieces. However, you can’t collect all of them until you have a couple of upgrades: the Faydown Cloak from Mt. Fay and the Clawline from the Underworks. After you’ve unlocked both, go hit the bells in the right order at each room to unlock a piece.

Whispering Vaults Cogheart piece

The Whispering Vaults piece sits in a dark bell puzzle room. If this is your first trip through the Vaults, expect a longer route and make sure to flip levers to open shortcuts for future runs. Also, light is scarce in the puzzle room, so watch your step and move around to find the bells.

Choral Chambers Cogheart piece

This one is above the silk-dispensing machine and across from a room with a Lost Flea. In other words, you won’t miss it if you’re exploring the long corridors. Don’t bother using the silk machine unless you’re desperate; you can get silk by hitting the enemies nearby.

Memorium Cogheart piece

The Memorium piece requires the Faydown Cloak because you must double-jump to a high platform at the top of Choral Chambers. The bell puzzle room is to the right, above where you pick up the Memorium map and the path to the Putrified Ducts.

Once you have all three pieces, they assemble automatically into the full Cogheart. After that, you can interact with the incomplete Second Sentinel and start the next phase.

How to start Final Audience

With the assembled Cogheart, go to Cogwork Core and activate the Second Sentinel. Drop down from the Cogwork Core bench, enter the left corridor, double-jump with the Faydown Cloak, and place the Cogheart into the Sentinel’s container. The Sentinel will stir and say it will fulfill its duty, then leave the area.

After that, the wish called “Final Audience” should appear on the Songclave wish wall, but it’s finicky. To make the wish show up reliably, you must encounter the Second Sentinel fighting enemies in the Choral Chambers multiple times and then rest at a bench. Some players see the wish after two encounters plus a bench rest; others need more encounters, the Forum fight finished, and the Conductor’s Melody in hand. Therefore, expect to track the Sentinel a few times if it doesn’t appear right away.

Second Sentinel locations around Choral Chambers

The Sentinel tends to patrol the long horizontal corridors. Notable spawn points where players have found it include:

  • The corridors beside the Cogwork Dancers chamber.
  • The corridor above Whiteward.
  • Hallways above and to the right of the Choral Chambers Ventrica terminal (near the spa).

After you’ve seen the Sentinel enough times and the wish appears, prepare for a boss fight.

How to defeat Second Sentinel

Fight the Second Sentinel in the High Halls boss room after resting at the bench below it. The Sentinel telegraphs every move, so watch animations and don’t be greedy.

Key attacks and how to respond

Thrust attack: The Sentinel pulls one sword back and fires a chain of thrusts. Jump and hover to avoid, or time a downward attack while it’s still extending.

Spinning jump: It leaps diagonally while spinning both blades. Dash under it during the leap to stay safe, and strike in the small window after it lands.

Energy burst (ground): The Sentinel brings its arms down and sends a floor arc of energy. Double-jump over it; if you’re confident and it’s away from walls, a downward attack as it lands can score damage.

X-strike: It charges an X-shaped energy burst. Move away while it charges and avoid the beams when they detonate.

Counterstrike: Sometimes the Sentinel blocks and flashes its blades. If you attack during the block, it retaliates with a flurry. You can bait the block, then drop behind it to punish or retreat to heal.

Overall, prioritize reads and patience. Move in after big attacks or during landing windows, and use the room space to dodge the ranged energy patterns.

Final Audience reward

Defeating the Second Sentinel gives you the Reserve Bind tool. It holds one bind’s worth of silk and lets you heal once in an emergency, regardless of how much silk is on your spool.

Keep in mind that Reserve Bind is single-use and must be recharged by resting at a bench. In short, it’s a useful safety net for late-game runs, not a permanent healing upgrade.
