How to Get the Drifter’s Cloak Fast — Easy Hoker Farm for 25 Spine Cores in Hollow Knight: Silksong

Here’s a short, straightforward guide to the “Flexile Spines” quest in Hollow Knight: Silksong — where to pick it up, how to farm the Hokers for Spine Cores, and what you get for turning them in.

After you reach the Far Fields region (which lies east of the Deep Docks), keep moving east until you enter a large open area with a big, balloon-like house. Enter that house and speak with the Seamstress to pick up the “Flexile Spines” quest. It starts as soon as you talk to her.

Then, if you need to rest or reset enemies, there’s a bench inside her home you can use before heading back out.

To finish the quest you must hand over 25 Spine Cores to the Seamstress. Spine Cores are obtained from hitting the spikes fired by enemies called Hokers. First, exit the Seamstress’ house. Immediately after leaving, drop down the hanging platforms to the right and take the eastern exit.

There you’ll find the floating, spiky enemies — the Hokers — in the next room. They carry several spikes and will launch them when hit. The number and pattern change when they regenerate, but they typically have four or six spikes at a time.

The key detail is this: Hokers do *not* drop Spine Cores directly from their bodies. Instead, hit a Hoker to make it fire spikes, then avoid those spikes and hit the spikes on the ground. Each spike you strike turns into a collectible Spine Core. In practice, stand under or near a Hoker to use upward strikes safely when its spikes point toward you.

Hokers usually take about three hits before they die because they regenerate spikes between hits. You’ll generally need to dispatch roughly five to seven Hokers to collect 25 Spine Cores, depending on how many spikes you can reach each time. If you run out of enemies, sit on the Seamstress’ bench to respawn them and try again.

When you hand over 25 Spine Cores, the Seamstress gives you the Drifter’s Cloak. This ability lets Hornet glide while airborne and also lets you ride air streams. To use it, hold the jump button while in the air.

Combined with movement options such as Swift Step (sprinting and dashing), the Drifter’s Cloak significantly increases horizontal reach and aerial mobility, which can open up exploration and traversal routes across the Far Fields and beyond.
