Is This Seat Taken? is a puzzle game from Poti Poti Studio that turns everyday social choices into logic challenges. It was shown during a Nintendo Indie Showcase and asks players to arrange characters with specific preferences into seats across a series of scenes, using drag-and-drop mechanics and constraint-based puzzles.

What it is
The game is a debut title from Poti Poti Studio. In each level, you place geometric characters — such as squares and rhombuses with faces — into seating layouts. Each character has *rules* or preferences, for example: a request for a window seat, a wish to sit alone, a dislike of loud music, or a sensitivity to smells. Consequently, the puzzle comes from balancing those constraints so everyone is satisfied.
How it plays
Gameplay is primarily drag-and-drop. You move characters into seats and rearrange them until the level’s conditions are met. Levels include everyday settings: a bus, an airport terminal, a club with dancers and sitters, and an open-plan office. The game runs for about five hours in total, and some scene types reuse core mechanics as challenges progress.
Mechanics and examples
For example, an early level presents an empty bus and a set of passengers to seat. One passenger may want a window seat. Another may want to sit alone. Meanwhile, someone else might want to read quietly, and a different passenger might be planning to play loud music. As a result, you must separate conflicting preferences and also account for secondary details, such as a character with a sensitive nose who should be kept away from someone carrying strong food.
