Jacob Wysocki Wins $100K and Goes Super Saiyan — Says Piccolo Is Dragon Ball’s Most Underrated Hero

Dropout’s Game Changer took a detour for its penultimate season seven episode, “Who Wants to Be Jacob Wysocki?”, putting comedian Jacob Wysocki in the spotlight. He won $100,000 on the show, used a ripcord called “Go Super Saiyan,” and talked about his Dragon Ball favorites — namely Future Trunks and Piccolo — in a later conversation about the episode.

  • What happened on the episode and the prize.
  • Which Dragon Ball characters Wysocki said he likes and why.
  • A past moment when Wysocki asked to be powered up like a Super Saiyan (with the clip link).
  • How you can make Wysocki go Super Saiyan yourself via a Dropout minigame.

What happened on the episode

The episode, titled “Who Wants to Be Jacob Wysocki?”, was designed to highlight Wysocki rather than put contestants through the usual Game Changer traps. Ultimately, he was awarded $100,000. During play, one ripcord was labeled “Go Super Saiyan.” For that, Wysocki and his friends mashed a button to create a digitized Super Saiyan power-up sequence.

Wysocki on Future Trunks and Piccolo

Wysocki said, “I really do like future Trunks.” He pointed to Trunks’ sword and purple hair as notable traits, and added that the time-travel element felt exciting when he first watched the show. Later, he named a non-Saiyan pick: “I also think Piccolo is a G,” and explained that Piccolo “holds it down.”

Wysocki put that idea in context: “I don’t think saying underrated is quite right, because I think a lot of people would agree with me, but I think maybe he’s slept on a little bit more than some of the Saiyans.” He noted that Piccolo steps back after the Cell arc and only returns to a starring role with new forms in 2022’s Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero. Still, as Wysocki said plainly, “But he’s still fucking tight.”

Earlier moment: Super Saiyan request

Wysocki’s Dragon Ball fandom showed up before this episode. In Game Changer’s season 6 episode “Sam Says 3,” host Sam Reich asked contestants for a visual effect to be added in post, and Wysocki requested to be powered up like a Super Saiyan. He acted out the scream-filled transformation and told the team, “Make a dream of mine come true.”

Where to watch and try it yourself

“Who Wants to Be Jacob Wysocki?” is streaming now on Dropout. Also, like previous Dropout minigames, you can play Power Up Jacob and make the comedian go Super Saiyan yourself.

Finally, after the episode, Wysocki told reporters, “I think there’s still a part of me that doesn’t even know if it’s real.”
