Joel, Ellie, Kratos and Aloy Become Magic Cards — PlayStation x Secret Lair Revealed, Drops Oct. 27

Wizards of the Coast revealed a Secret Lair collaboration with PlayStation at MagicCon Atlanta 2025, showing Magic: The Gathering cards based on PlayStation franchises including The Last of Us, God of War, Horizon, Uncharted and Ghost of Tsushima. The Secret Lair x PlayStation drop is scheduled for Oct. 27.

PlayStation crossover overview

At the Secret Lair panel, Wizards of the Coast presented a set of themed cards that draw on PlayStation Studios properties. The lineup includes characters from The Last of Us, God of War, Horizon, Uncharted, and Ghost of Tsushima. The announcement came during MagicCon Atlanta 2025, alongside other event reveals such as more Marvel sets, a deeper look at Lorwyn Eclipsed, Star Trek and Hobbit tie-ins, and additional Final Fantasy cards.

Characters and cards

Wizards showed individual cards for several franchise leads. Each card pairs art and mechanics tied to the character’s game. Below are the characters shown and their accompanying images.

Joel

The Last of Us — Joel appears as a Magic card with art and design meant to reflect his role in the games.

Ellie

Ellie is represented on multiple cards, including one that is shown alongside Joel for commander use.


Abby

Abby from The Last of Us is also featured as a separate card in the drop.

Nathan Drake

Uncharted’s Nathan Drake was shown as a card with franchise-appropriate art.

Kratos and Kratos (Ragnarok)

God of War’s Kratos appears, including an art variant tied to Ragnarok.


Atreus

Atreus from God of War is included as a separate card in the set.

Aloy

Horizon’s Aloy appears with artwork representative of her game.

Jin Sakai

Ghost of Tsushima’s Jin Sakai was shown as part of the PlayStation Secret Lair selection.

Commander pairing and developer collaboration

Lindsay Bartell, senior director of Secret Lair, spoke at the panel about how some cards interact. She said, “just like in the games, the Joel and Ellie cards are designed to work well together as partnered commanders. As long as Joel survives, of course.”

Wizards of the Coast also stated that it worked closely with PlayStation Studios teams at Naughty Dog, Santa Monica Studio, Guerrilla, and Sucker Punch Productions “to capture the spirit of each game and bring them to life with stunning art and cards with unique mechanics.”

Release details

The Magic: The Gathering Secret Lair x PlayStation collection is set to drop on Oct. 27. The announcement took place during MagicCon Atlanta 2025.
