According to Anime News Network, Kadokawa is bringing back most of the original cast and crew for these new films. That means Kinema Citrus is animating once again, with Masayuki Kojima returning as director. Hideyuki Kurata will handle the series composition, ensuring the story stays true to the manga’s roots.
And that’s not all—fans of Reg, Riko, Nanachi, and Faputa can relax, as their original voice actors are set to reprise their roles. The official teaser image even introduces two new faces: Tepaste and Cravagli. You can spot them below.

A Quick Look Back
The Made in Abyss anime first hit TV screens in July 2017, adapting Akihito Tsukushi’s dark fantasy manga into a 13-episode series. After that, the story continued with a second season, Made in Abyss: The Golden City of the Scorching Sun, which aired in July 2022 and wrapped up with a special one-hour finale.
This isn’t the first time the franchise has ventured into theaters. Two recap films came before Made in Abyss: Dawn of the Deep Soul, which premiered in January 2020 and adapted the Ido Front Arc. The movie had a strong opening, earning over 102 million yen (about $929,300) during its debut weekend in Japan. Later, it made its way to select theaters in the U.S. and Canada, though there was a delay due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
