What’s New in Season 3?
The first half of Season 3 brings Jane Grey, aka The Phoenix, who wields powerful single-target attacks, high mobility with flight, and devastating area-of-effect moves. She’s a game-changer, especially if you’re used to playing Hela.
The new map, Klyntar: Celestial Husk, is inspired by the symbiote planet and sets the stage for intense battles. The battle pass theme matches this vibe, featuring symbiote-inspired outfits for various heroes.
Balance Updates and Team-Up Ability Tweaks
Season 3 also introduces some balance changes. For example, Iron Man’s ultimate ability will take longer to charge, and Emma Frost’s Diamond Form won’t be as overpowering. On the upside, Invisible Woman’s healing is improved, and The Thing gains the ability to knock flying characters out of the air.
New Team-Up Abilities include:
- Ever-Burning Bond – Human Torch and Spider-Man
Human Torch’s damage increases by 5%, and Spider-Man gets a new skill called Inferno Blast. - Primal Flame – Phoenix and Wolverine
Phoenix deals 10% more damage, and Wolverine gains the Phoenix Warrior ability.
Adjustments to existing abilities:
- Stark Protocol – Iron Man and Squirrel Girl
Squirrel Girl can now use the Squirrel Missile skill. - Symbiote Shenanigans – Venom, Jeff the Land Shark, and Hela
Hela is added to this team-up, allowing her to use the Hel Tendrils ability, and Venom gains 150 extra HP when Hela is on the field.
Two previous team-ups will be retired with Season 3:
- ESU Alumnus (Spider-Man and Squirrel Girl)
- Storming Ignition (Storm and Human Torch)
