Where to Find Blightweaver Great Centipede

You can locate the Blightweaver in the Bandit Cave, which is part of the Worship’s Rise area. Starting from the Bandit Camp Shrine, take the downward path to the right and you’ll enter a large cavern arena where the boss awaits. This is the perfect spot to test your skills if you’re ready for a tough fight.

How to Prepare for the Great Centipede

Don’t be discouraged if the fight feels overwhelming at first. Remember, it’s optional, and many players stumble into it without proper preparation. The Blightweaver’s attacks deal physical damage and can inflict Corruption and Burn. It’s weak to Lightning attacks and the Paralysis status effect, but its biggest vulnerability is blunt damage from axes.

If you’re struggling, consider leveling up your character and upgrading your Manna Vase to increase healing. Exploring nearby areas to gain experience and resources can make a huge difference before you face the boss again.

To maximize your chances, use Jade Pendants and take advantage of the Impetus and Tempering mechanics. For example, the Fiend-Felling Pendant, sold by an NPC in Shu Sanctum, boosts damage against large enemies. You can also find the Dracolich Pendant on your way to the fight, which is another great damage booster.

If you’ve unlocked the Impetus skill tree and tempering, infuse your weapon with Lightning or Poise Break effects. And if you preordered Wuchang, the Vermillion War Club axe’s “Misty Breath” ability is excellent for quickly building Poise Break and dealing heavy blunt damage.

How to Beat Blightweaver Great Centipede – Phase One

The first phase of the fight is all about patience. The boss’s sides and tail emit Corruption gas, so avoid staying near those areas for too long. Instead, focus on dodging its combos and pincer swipes, which are well telegraphed and manageable once you learn their patterns.

Use the environment to your advantage. The cavern has electrified stone pillars that can serve as cover. If the Blightweaver smashes into one, it gets stunned, giving you a perfect opportunity to land a full combo without retaliation.

During this phase, the boss has about half of its health bar. Aim to attack near its head and sides right after it finishes an attack, then back off and repeat. Patience and timing are your best friends here.

How to Beat Blightweaver Great Centipede – Phase Two

Once the boss’s health drops below 50%, it becomes more aggressive and gains new attacks. However, the core strategy remains the same: stay patient and keep your cool.

Watch out for the magic circle laser attack—it can catch you off guard. While dodging lasers, the Blightweaver might prepare another strike, so keep it in your sight at all times. Sometimes it’s better to take a laser hit than risk a full pincer combo.

The centipede’s burrowing attack is another tricky move. It’s invulnerable during the first four burrow strikes, so focus on dodging. After the fourth strike, it exposes its head briefly, which is your chance to deal heavy damage. Timing your dodges perfectly and staying close after this attack is key to winning.

Keep chipping away at its health, and eventually, you’ll take down the Great Centipede and claim your reward.
