If you’re diving into Elden Ring Nightreign, the Raider Remembrance quests offer a fresh twist compared to other character quests like those of the Recluse or Duchess. Expect intense arena battles against tough opponents, with less lore but rewarding relics that boost the Raider’s abilities. Here’s a straightforward guide to help you start the Raider’s questline, tackle each arena challenge, and unlock all the chapters.

  • How to begin the Raider’s Remembrance quest
  • Details on each arena boss fight
  • Tips on unlocking further chapters and collecting relics

Starting the Raider’s Remembrance Quest

The first chapter of the Raider’s story kicks off automatically as you start the game. However, to unlock the initial quest, you need to defeat Tricephalos, the three-headed dog and Nightreign’s first main boss. Once you overcome this beast, you’ll get access to play as the Duchess and unlock the Raider’s second journal chapter.

Raider Chapter 2: Onestrike Gladiator

Head over to Roundtable Hold’s cemetery and find the Iron Menial near a large tombstone. Talking to him and touching the stone will transport you to a gladiator-style arena. Here, you face the Onestrike Gladiator in a one-on-one battle.

Despite his imposing size, the Gladiator struggles to keep up once Raider attacks. Use light and heavy strikes to interrupt his moves, and don’t hesitate to activate the Raider’s skill to knock him back and reduce incoming damage. This skill is especially useful when the Gladiator gets too close.

After defeating him, you’ll return to Roundtable Hold. Talk to the Menial again, touch the stone, and finish the quest to claim the Torn Braided Cord relic. This item boosts stamina and attack power when Raider takes damage during his skill activation. For now, no more fights.

Unlocking Chapter 4: Collecting Memory Fragments

The Raider’s next quest unlocks in Chapter 4, but you’ll need to gather more memory fragments first. Nightreign doesn’t hand these out easily. You might get some after completing expeditions or by defeating other main bosses. Keep pushing forward to earn these fragments and progress.

Raider Chapter 4: Blinding Elder Lion

Once you have a memory fragment, check the Raider’s journal to start Chapter 4. You’ll find yourself again in Roundtable Hold’s graveyard by the memorial stone. Before jumping in, consider equipping the Torn Braided Cord relic along with others that enhance attack power after taking damage.

Speak with the Iron Menial twice to activate the glowing monument, then touch it to enter the arena. Your opponent this time is the Blinding Elder Lion, essentially the familiar Elder Lion with a fancy new title.

The Elder Lion’s attack patterns include:

  • Three-swipe combo with increasing power
  • Bite attack when close
  • Jumping smash
  • Big smash by lunging forward

This boss is quick but pauses briefly after certain attacks, giving you openings to strike or heal. The Raider’s attacks can interrupt the Lion, but timing is key due to Raider’s slower speed. It’s often better to attack just before the Lion starts its combos.

Use the Raider’s skill to absorb hits and push the Lion back, but don’t rely solely on it because of its long animation and the Lion’s speed.

After the battle, talk to the Menial and exit the Remembrance to earn the Raider’s Chalice reliquary.

Raider Chapter 7: White Horn

Defeat another Nightlord to unlock Chapter 7. If you don’t receive a memory fragment right away, keep challenging Nightlords until you do. Once unlocked, head to the beach for the final showdown against White Horn, a boss unique to Nightreign.

Without spoiling too much, White Horn fights with an axe and mace, using heavy attacks that can stagger you. He also uses the Raider’s skill, so watch out for his stomp—back off to avoid being knocked down. Your attacks usually interrupt his, but manage your stamina carefully to dodge effectively.

At half health, White Horn transforms into an Ulcerated Tree Spirit, with slower but powerful attacks like toxic explosions and tail whips. This phase leaves openings for strong or charged attacks to stagger him.

When victorious, talk to the Iron Menial, inspect the giant memorial stone, and make an offering to complete the Raider’s Remembrance quest. You’ll receive the Raider’s Remembrance skin and the Black Claw Necklace, a relic that boosts poise and restores HP when defeating enemies near the Raider’s totem.
