Starting Wylder’s Remembrance Quest
First things first, you’ll need to unlock the third chapter in Wylder’s journal. This happens naturally as you complete expeditions as Wylder—usually after one or two runs. It doesn’t matter if you win or lose, solo or multiplayer, the chapter unlocks eventually. Once unlocked, you’ll see a button in the journal that says “begin Remembrance.” Click it, and you’ll enter a memory sequence where you play as Wylder. Feel free to revisit this quest anytime, but keep in mind that Nightreign limits you to one personal objective per expedition.
Chapter 3: Find a Whetstone in Limveld
Start by talking to the Iron Menial in Roundtable Hold to kick off the first quest. Your mission is to find a whetstone in Limveld. Head out on an expedition and look for a red quest icon on your map pointing to a mine. Inside, you’ll face a mini-boss called Tunnel Crystalian. It’s not much different from other Crystalians you’ve fought, so you can probably handle it solo with your starting gear.
Defeat the boss, grab the Slate Whetstone behind it, and return to the Iron Menial. After chatting with him and grabbing some rewards (including the Mended Earring), head to the study. Holding the earring up to the light reveals lore, then return it to the Duchess to complete this part. You’ll receive the Slate Whetstone Relic, boosting Wylder’s physical attack and enhancing his greatsword skill.

Chapter 5: The Roundtable Crypt
Once you unlock the fifth chapter, you’ll enter a memory where you explore the Roundtable Hold’s west hall. Find and interact with glowing notes on the walls. This triggers a heavy door opening, revealing a hidden crypt not marked on the map. Head down the stairs, turn left, then descend again to find the open door.
Inside, meet the Iron Menial again and examine more glowing notes. You’ll learn about Duchess and then need to find her on the beach south of Roundtable Hold. Exhaust her dialogue to finish this chapter and earn the Wylder’s Chalice. This chalice lets you equip a red relic, a yellow relic, and one of any color specifically for Wylder.

Chapter 7: Defeat the Mimic Troll
Unlock the seventh chapter by collecting memory fragments. After starting the quest from the journal, you’ll appear in the Roundtable Hold armory. Grab the note with the Virtuous Thief’s Key and use it to open a hidden chest in the underground crypt at the bottom of the stairs.
Inside the chest is a Torn-Out Paper Scrap. Show it to Iron Menial in the expedition room, then speak with Recluse in the library. After discussing the Nightlords, return to Iron Menial and receive the objective: Find the Mimic Tear in Limveld. This triggers the Noktaleo event in the Shrouded City, so plan your expedition accordingly.
We recommend spending your first expedition day preparing, then head straight to the Shrouded City on Day 2. Defeat the Mimic Troll mini-boss, investigate the glowing coffin behind it, and collect the Silver Tear item. Return to Iron Menial to wrap up this stage and earn the Remembrance (Wylder) skin and the Silver Tear relic.

Final Objective: Defeat Heolstor the Nightlord
To complete Wylder’s story, equip the Silver Tear relic and face Heolstor the Nightlord. If Heolstor isn’t appearing in your expedition list, make sure you’ve defeated at least four different Nightlords with any character to unlock him. After beating both phases of the boss fight, you’ll find Heolstor’s corpse on the beach at Roundtable Hold.
Interact with the corpse to trigger the cutscene and credits. Returning to Roundtable Hold, you’ll receive standard run completion rewards plus the Wylder’s Earring relic. This relic offers:
- Fire spread on Art activation
- +1 additional Character Skill use
- Stamina recovery on successful attacks
Wylder’s journal will also update to show you’ve fully completed the Remembrance quest.
