Michael Cera and Glen Powell Caught Fleeing in First Look at Edgar Wright’s The Running Man

Edgar Wright’s upcoming film The Running Man includes Michael Cera in the cast alongside Glen Powell, and an exclusive image shows the two actors together in what looks like a fleeing scene.

Casting and characters

Glen Powell stars as Ben Richards, the protagonist who enters a lethal game show. Michael Cera plays Elton Parrakis, described as a young rebel who opposes the government and helps spread information.

Director Edgar Wright commented on Cera’s role, saying, “I think what he does in the movie is a little surprising, maybe from his previous performances. It was such a thrill to be with him and also just to see him and Glen Powell together. They’re a very unlikely duo that it was really fun to witness.” This remark was made to Entertainment Weekly.

The exclusive image

An exclusive image released with the preview shows both Glen Powell and Michael Cera in the same frame. In the image, the two actors appear together in a scene that suggests they are on the move and avoiding capture.

The novel features Elton Parrakis in a brief but key episode where Richards arrives at Parrakis’s home and they flee from the police together.

Trailer and release date

The film is directed by Edgar Wright and is scheduled to open in theaters on Nov. 14, 2025. Wright has described the adaptation as relatively faithful to King’s book.
