Game Description

MindsEye drops players into a not-so-distant future where things have gone a bit sideways. You’re Jacob Diaz – a former soldier with amnesia, a shady past, and a neural implant lodged in your head. Set in the corporate-ruled ruins of Redrock, North America, this third-person action shooter blends tactical gunplay, high-speed car chases, and sci-fi paranoia into one volatile mix. It’s like if GTA had a run-in with Watch Dogs: Legion – but darker and way more personal.

What’s the deal with Jacob?

Jacob isn’t your average ex-soldier. One moment he’s blanking out, the next he’s reliving battlefield trauma in crystal-clear flashbacks. That implant? It’s called the MindsEye, and it’s got secrets – just like Jacob. As he tries to figure out who he really is, he gets tangled in something way bigger. Think corporate espionage, AI gone rogue, and a whole lot of military-grade chaos.

Gameplay – tactical but messy

Unlike mindless shooters, MindsEye throws you into combat where thinking fast isn’t enough – you’ve gotta think smart. Enemies won’t just stand around waiting for you. They flank, they use cover, they gang up. And sometimes? They just outsmart you. That’s where your drone comes in – mounted right on your forearm.

  • Third-person combat that makes cover, timing, and tactics matter
  • Vehicle segments for those who miss high-speed getaways
  • Neural drone support – scan, scout, and strike from above
  • Story-driven missions with flashbacks that reveal Jacob’s past piece by piece

Need a challenge? You got it. This isn’t run-and-gun. You’ll need patience – or a really quick reload finger. Lesson learned: always carry a spare clip.

Worldbuilding that’s gritty, not pretty

Redrock isn’t a nice place. It’s dusty, broken, and packed with shady tech and power-hungry factions. You’ll see it all from back alleys to high-tech bunkers. It’s sci-fi, sure – but it doesn’t feel too far from reality. Maybe that’s the scary part.

Who made it?

Built by Build A Rocket Boy (yeah, the same team behind the upcoming Everywhere), and guided by Leslie Benzies – yep, the guy who helped make GTA what it is. Add in publishing from IO Interactive and you’ve got a serious pedigree behind the chaos.

Final thoughts

MindsEye doesn’t try to reinvent the action genre – but it sure twists it. It’s fast, gritty, and full of “wait, what just happened?” moments. The mix of story, tech, and tight combat keeps things interesting. Not perfect – but definitely worth a shot if you like your shooters with a side of sci-fi mystery.
