MindsEye Rushes Out First Hotfix After Chaotic Launch—Here’s What’s Changing

MindsEye’s launch isn’t going as planned, but the team at Build a Rocket Boy is fighting to turn things around. After a rocky start, with bugs, crashes and even PlayStation Store refunds, the developers are scrambling to patch things up and get players back on board. Now, the first hotfix is rolling out, aiming to solve the most pressing issues and give everyone a real shot at enjoying the game.

  • First hotfix for MindsEye is live
  • Focus on stability, performance, and memory leak fix
  • Refunds and negative launch have prompted urgent action
  • More fixes incoming throughout June
  • Patch details and release times for all platforms below

Hotfix #1: What’s fixed in MindsEye?

Let’s get straight to the point. The major pain for players so far has been game crashes, which the devs traced back to a memory leak. This hotfix, released Friday, June 13, is supposed to fix that. If you’ve been frustrated by the game freezing or dying mid-session, this patch is for you.

But that’s not all. Performance and stability are getting a boost across all devices, so whether you’re on PC, PlayStation, or soon Xbox, the experience should feel much smoother. There’s also a difficulty tweak for the notorious CPR mini-game, a new option for Depth of Field in the settings, plus fixes for missing controls in two mini-games: MineHunter and Run Dungeon.

What about PC-only fixes?

PC players, you get some extra love: new pop-up warnings if your system’s Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling is off, or if your CPU is known to cause crashes.

What’s next for MindsEye?

The devs aren’t stopping at one patch. According to their Reddit update, a second hotfix is coming during the week of June 16, focused on even more performance tuning and fixing the weird “wheels not spinning while driving” bug. A third patch, later in June, will bring animation tweaks, smarter enemy AI, and more optimization.

“We will continue to provide frequent and transparent updates. Our team is committed to do everything possible to urgently action your feedback,” the developers stated on X.

With the community still reeling from the launch, Build a Rocket Boy clearly wants to avoid a repeat of other infamous releases. They’re aiming for a comeback story, not a disaster.
