Mortuary Assistant devs drop creepy found‑footage trailer for Paranormal Activity: Threshold

Darkstone Digital has released a found-footage style trailer for its upcoming Paranormal Activity game, Paranormal Activity: Threshold. The trailer gives a first look at the game’s tone and some gameplay beats, and it follows a couple who move into what the male character calls “the only house we could afford.”
Trailer — first look
The new trailer is presented in a *found-footage* style and highlights the game’s horror approach. It opens with the couple settling into their new home, and then quickly shifts to paranormal events — furniture moving, noises from the dark, and a tense, creeping atmosphere.
Later in the trailer, the player-character is shown examining a spirit board-like object while an EMF detector sits nearby, and a sequence ends with the character being pulled into darkness by an unseen force.
Gameplay elements shown
The footage includes first-person exploration with a handheld video camera, similar to other found-footage horror games. Also, the trailer demonstrates interactive investigation tools and environmental scares. In short, the game appears focused on atmosphere, slow buildup, and jump moments.
Studio background
Darkstone Digital developed The Mortuary Assistant (2022), which received attention for its darkly comedic cadaver-care mechanics described by some as “Operation, but cursed”. Now, the studio says the new title “Aims to deliver a uniquely chilling experience, faithful to the franchise’s legacy of found footage fear.”
Availability and wishlist
Darkstone announced Paranormal Activity: Threshold in early 2024 but has not provided a release date. For now, the game is available to wishlist on Steam, where interested players can add it to their lists.
