MTG Is Reprinting $30 Doubling Season With Classic TMNT Comic Art — Commander Players Rejoice
Magic: The Gathering’s upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set will include a reprint of Doubling Season, featuring original art from the early TMNT comics. The reprint was revealed at New York Comic Con, and it will appear in both Play Booster and Collector Booster packs when the set launches on March 6, 2026.
Doubling Season reprint
Wizards of the Coast confirmed that Doubling Season — a green enchantment that doubles tokens and counters — is being reprinted with artwork taken from the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comics. The card was shown during a panel at New York Comic Con, alongside other cards in the TMNT-themed expansion.
Release date and availability
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set is scheduled for release on March 6, 2026. Moreover, the new Doubling Season will be included in both Play Booster and Collector Booster packs. That means you can pull it from regular boosters, but there is no guaranteed distribution outside of specific product inserts.
Currently, second-hand copies of Doubling Season sell for roughly $30, depending on art, condition, and seller. While a reprint can sometimes affect market prices, the exact impact will depend on print run and demand.
The set will also include a pre-constructed Commander deck that focuses on +1/+1 counters.
Why it matters
Doubling Season is widely used in Commander because it directly increases the power of token- and counter-based strategies. Therefore, adding a comic-art reprint makes the card more collectible for both players and fans of the TMNT franchise. For players, it remains a strong, format-impacting card; for collectors, the new art is the main draw.
