Nostalgia Alert: Lego’s 260‑Piece Sega Genesis Controller Flips to Reveal Sonic’s Green Hill Zone

The Lego Company has unveiled a new Sega Genesis-themed set made in partnership with Sega. The 260-piece Sega Genesis Controller set is designed as a display piece that shows a controller on one side and a scene from Sonic the Hedgehog on the other.

What the set contains

The set includes 260 pieces and is built to be displayed in two ways: the front presents a Lego-styled Genesis controller, while the opposite side displays the Green Hill Zone from Sonic the Hedgehog. In addition, the product page lists “regional stickers” to decorate the controller.

Also, the Sega Genesis is known as the Sega Mega Drive outside of North America, which is a relevant regional naming fact for collectors and fans.

How to get it

The set is listed with a price of $19.99 on the product page and is described as a “Gift with Purchase”. However, the product page’s offers section does not show details about the specific gift conditions.

Marketplace reporting and a community leak on Reddit suggest additional details. A user on Reddit’s Legoleak community claims the set will be available on Sept. 8 and that it will be free with a purchase of at least $130; that claim appears on this Reddit thread.
