Prime Video and Critical Role revealed a new trailer at New York Comic Con 2025 for The Mighty Nein, the animated adaptation of Campaign 2. The trailer highlights returning voice actors from the original live-play campaign and a number of guest stars, while presenting the Nein as a group of misfits, outcasts, and criminals.

The new trailer debuted at New York Comic Con 2025 and focuses on the animated retelling of Campaign 2. It frames the Mighty Nein as a largely morally grey group — described in the trailer as misfits, outcasts, and criminals — rather than classic straight-laced heroes.
Two lines from the trailer appear verbatim:
“Face it, we’re nobodies,”
“That’s what makes you so dangerous. They’ll never see you coming.”
Cast and characters
The trailer and announcements confirm that the original founders of Critical Role are returning to voice their Campaign 2 characters, and the cast list includes several high-profile additions. Notable names mentioned in the trailer and promotional material include Ming-Na Wen, Lucy Liu, and Tim McGraw.
