What One Piece Heroines is

One Piece Heroines is a collection of short stories originally published in One Piece Magazine starting in June 2021 and later compiled into two light novels in March 2024. The stories focus on the women of the pirate world, and the anime adaptation will present those tales as a series of shorts. Notably, Nami and Nico Robin appear on the project’s key visual.

Which characters and stories are included

The first light novel collects stories centered on Nami, Nico Robin, Vivi, and Perona. The second volume highlights Boa Hancock, Tashigi, Reiju, and Uta. The collection concludes with a final chapter in which Nami and Robin discuss the crew’s hygiene, a topic that, according to original author Eiichiro Oda, “ranges from bad to worse”.

Who’s working on the anime

The adaptation will have scripts by Momoka Toyoda, who previously wrote One Piece: Fan Letter. Direction is by Haruka Kamatani (known for One Piece in Love), and character designs are by Takashi Kojima (known for Flip Flappers).

Context and significance

While this isn’t the first One Piece spinoff, it is the first of these short-story collections to be adapted into an anime. Therefore, it represents a direct look at side stories that center female characters, offering alternate perspectives within the One Piece universe.

Release status

There is currently no release date and no confirmed format for One Piece Heroines. Fans should expect further announcements from the production team and official outlets as development progresses.
