The Terminus Range Vault in Borderlands 4 is a hidden dungeon that requires three key fragments to enter and ends with a fight against the dragon-like boss Origo. Terminus Range Vault key fragment locations
You need three key fragments located across Terminus Range: Winspear, Low Leys, and Cuspid Climb. Unlock nearby Safehouses and Silos for faster travel, then grab each fragment as described below.
Fragment #1 — Vestal Garrison (Winspear)
Fast-travel to Nightcap Safehouse, head southwest to the Vestal Garrison on the south side of Winspear, and enter through the large door on the exterior. Turn left, pass another door, and enter the control room with big red panels. The fragment sits below the big screen in that room.
Fragment #2 — Altar near giant arch (Low Leys)
From Snowy Wells Safehouse, head east until you reach a large metal arch over a tree-filled path. Then go northeast under the arch and climb the path beside a large tree with pink lower leaves. Use the grappling hook to reach the upper level where the fragment is located.
Fragment #3 — Cave on highest platform (Cuspid Climb)
The third fragment is inside a cave on the highest platform in Cuspid Climb. Use the balloons at the Reliquary Silo (south of the cave) to glide up. From the platform, go northeast, eliminate the Logan guarding the entrance, then climb the stairs inside the cave; the fragment is next to a couple of bodies.
Terminus Range Vault door location
With all three fragments, fast-travel to Heritage Opus Safehouse, take a vehicle northwest into Low Leys, and look west for a cave entrance with an Auger Shrine in front. The Vault door is inside that cave. Activate the shrine first to earn SDU tokens if you want the extra upgrade currency.
How to defeat the Primordial Guardian Origo
Origo is a dragon-like boss with two energy shield bars rather than normal health, and it shifts between ice and fire elements during the encounter. Therefore, bring weapons that deal electric damage to strip shields quickly, plus at least one fire weapon and one ice weapon to match Origo’s elemental phases.
Origo’s main attacks and how to handle them:
- Ice or fire breath (frontal) — Origo presses its wings, moves back, then lunges forward with a cone breath. Dodge sideways to avoid it.
- Dive slam — Origo dives into the arena and creates a large impact area. Run away from the landing zone; there is little you can do but put distance between you and the impact.
- Ice spikes / fireballs — Origo fires projectiles. For ice spikes, staying directly below the boss while it charges often avoids most spikes. For fireballs, wait for the first explosions then move into cleared spots; they land and explode after a short delay.
- Fire pillars — Red circles appear on the ground before pillars erupt. Move out of the marked circles to avoid damage.
To stay mobile, open holes in the arena with your grappling hook; they produce strong air currents that launch you upward. Use these currents with your glide pack to stay above Origo and target the spines on its back — those spines are the boss’s weak spots.
Rewards: defeating Origo yields cash, Eridium, and multiple guns. One possible legendary drop is the “Bonnie and Clyde” assault rifle. In one recorded run, killing Origo at level 41 on Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode rank 2 granted 2,538 experience points. Also, completing this vault for the first time awards a glide pack upgrade that reduces dash and glide cost by 50%.
