What to expect from Path of Exile 2’s ‘The Third Edict’ update
The headline feature is the new content: Act 4 of the campaign plus three temporary interlude missions. These interludes let players reach the endgame without replaying Acts 1 and 3, although they will be removed once Acts 5 and 6 are added.
Support Gems receive a notable systems change. After this update, there will be no limitation on the number of identical Support Gems you can equip. Moreover, Grinding Gear Games is adding a new gem type called Lineage Support Gems, which expands build possibilities.
Classes themselves are not being expanded in number, but existing classes are receiving buffs. In addition, a new league called Rise of the Abyssal will begin with the update, giving players a fresh environment to test builds and changes.
Finally, and importantly for new players, Path of Exile 2 will be free to play during the launch weekend. From Aug. 29 to Sept. 1, anyone can play without an early access key, and all progress made during that weekend will be saved to your account.
