Synergy Bonds are the new take on Social Links and Confidants in The Phantom X. They work almost the same as before – meet cool characters, complete side missions, give gifts, and raise your bond levels for sweet rewards. Unlike previous Persona games, finding these bonds is a bit easier, but you’ll still want to plan your time and Action Points wisely. Motoha Arai (Closer)
Unlock Motoha’s bond by finishing the side mission “The Day the Pearl Flies.” Raising your bond with Motoha means tougher Batting Practice challenges and bonus effects in Palace and Mementos. She’s the first human Phantom Thief to join you – cheerful, sporty, and getting back into baseball after a break. Ready to help her on her journey?
Yaoling Li (Rin)
Yaoling’s bond opens after you finish “Foreign Exchange.” As you get closer, you’ll unlock cooking and crafting upgrades for use both in and out of battle. Yaoling is a first-year university student from Sichuan, China, studying in Japan. Outgoing, a bit childish, and on a quest to find herself – will you be the one to help her?
Tomoko Noge (Moko)
Complete “Part-Time Dreamer” to start bonding with Tomoko. She offers part-time job upgrades and social stat boosts. Tomoko is a second-year at Kokatsu Academy and one of the first NPCs you’ll meet. She’s hardworking, juggling jobs to gain life experience, and her feelings for the protagonist are hard to miss!

Lufel (Cattle)
Lufel’s bond unlocks as you progress through the main story, specifically after the “Awakening of Desire” mission. Raise your bond for infiltration and crafting upgrades – more tools, fewer materials! Lufel is your trusty mascot character, full of Metaverse know-how, much like Morgana in Persona 5.
Merope

Kayo Tomiyama (Okyann)

Yui (Bui)
Yui’s bond starts after “Virtual Encounter.” Level up for plant growth upgrades, letting you plant more flowers. Yui loves farming and her Synergy Bond story happens mostly inside the in-game MMO Harvest World Online. Her Phantom Thief look is based on her virtual avatar, not her real self – a fun twist!
