Pokémon Go’s Go Fest 2025 Unleashes Eternatus – Get Ready for the Ultimate Max Battle!

Pokémon Go Welcomes Eternatus in Go Fest 2025’s Epic Max Finale
Get ready, trainers! Pokémon Go is finally bringing Eternatus, the massive Poison/Dragon Legendary Pokémon, into the game during the Go Fest 2025 finale. This exciting addition promises a week full of intense battles and unique raid challenges starting August 18.
- Introduction of Eternatus in Pokémon Go for the first time
- Weeklong Dark Skies event featuring raids with Dynamax and Gigantamax Pokémon
- Special Go Passes offering chances to catch Eternatus and earn plenty of candy
- Increased Power Spots and Max Particle limits during the event
- Final two days dedicated to Eternatus battles across the game world
Dark Skies and Max Finale: A Week Packed with Action
From August 18 to 24, Pokémon Go players level 13 and above will face a series of challenging raids and Max Battles. The Dark Skies event runs from August 18 to 23 and brings back fan-favorites like Crowned Sword Zacian and Crowned Shield Zamazenta, alongside every Dynamax and Gigantamax Pokémon previously featured in the game.
But the real star is Eternatus, finally joining the raid lineup. To catch this formidable Pokémon, trainers can get a new Go Pass called Go Pass: Max Finale, which unlocks during the Dark Skies event. There’s also a paid option, Go Pass Deluxe: Max Finale, both of which provide significant amounts of Eternatus Candy and Candy XL to help power up your new catch.
Eternatus: The Biggest Challenge Yet
Niantic describes Eternatus as “the biggest challenge in Max Battles yet.” Since Eternatus can only be caught once during the event and requires more Candy and Candy XL to power up due to its immense strength, players will want to gather as much candy as possible.
To make the event even more engaging, Power Spots will be more active and refreshed daily, and the Max Particle collection limit will be temporarily increased during Dark Skies.
Finale Weekend: Eternatus Everywhere
The grand finale happens on August 23 and 24, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. local time. During these two days, trainers will find Eternatus appearing widely across the game world, giving everyone a chance to take on this legendary beast.
About Eternatus
Originally introduced in Generation 8 through Pokémon Sword and Shield, Eternatus is a draconic alien Pokémon that crash-landed in the Galar region around 20,000 years ago. It caused the infamous Darkest Day about 3,000 years ago, which unleashed Dynamax energy and chaos. Though temporarily subdued by Zacian, Zamazenta, and trainers, Eternatus’ legacy lives on through Max Energy and Dynamax Pokémon.
