Pokémon Go’s Halloween 2025 Part 1 event is live from Oct. 21–27, and it brings a few new faces plus seasonal bonuses. Most notably, Poltchageist debuts and shiny Sinistea arrives in the wild. Meanwhile, the Halloween Go Pass runs through Nov. 2, offering extra encounters and perks if you pick the deluxe option.

Pokémon Go ‘Halloween 2025 Part 1’ Field Research and rewards

Spinning PokéStops during the event can give Field Research tasks with concrete rewards. Below are the tasks and their guaranteed encounters or items.

Available Field Research tasks

• Catch 10 ghost- or dark-type Pokémon — encounter with Yamask, Litwick, or Pumpkaboo.
• Evolve 3 dark-type Pokémon — encounter with Zorua or Vullaby.
• Evolve 3 ghost-type Pokémon — encounter with Sableye or Hisuian Zorua.
• Power up Pokémon 10 times — reward: 25 Mega Energy for one of Gengar, Houndoom, Sableye, Banette, or Absol.
• Win 3 raids — encounter with Spiritomb.

Also, the Halloween Go Pass (free track) unlocks encounters with many costumed Pokémon and an encounter with Rotom. If you buy the deluxe pass for $7.99, you get additional encounters, premium items, and a Teatime trainer pose. While leveling the free pass you receive bonuses like doubled catch candy, increased chances for XL candy, and doubled transfer candy. For deluxe buyers, those bonuses are tripled instead of doubled.
